Meals and Wheels is returning to North Olmsted Township! After the local chapter ended last year, Westlake Meals on Wheels allowed their program to expand to Olmsted Falls and Olmsted Township residents who qualify. Many of these elderly members of our community are disabled and unable to prepare meals for themselves.
Meals on Wheels have dedicated their efforts to provide meals for these members of our community and make sure they are filling their bodies with the proper nutrition. This amazing organization has been doing this since 1975 by delivering cold and hot, well-rounded meals to their homes along with a volunteer to provide them with some company for the day. “It makes their day. It is not only a way for them to receive nutritious meals, but they also receive it from a volunteer with a smile. The drivers may be the only ones they see that day- or week,” Wendi, Westlake’s program executive director, said.
The organization aims to provide relief from hunger for the elderly and disabled, decrease the onset of disease with good nutrition and increase home-based support to delay or prevent expensive institutional care. We are on a mission to support Meals on Wheels of 58 daily clients they provide meals and make lives easier for.
